Eendracht Dúo

Ella van der Mespel and Virginia del Cura Miranda. They take part of Eendracht Ensemble. It is a huge group comprised by different instruments and they perform with each other depending of the concert, flute quartet, harp septet, string duo, trio or quartet… All of them met at Codarts University two years ago, and they decided to start this beautiful project in order to change the obsolete stereotypes of our concert programmes.
Virginia del Cura Miranda - cello
Cellist born and raised in A Coruña. She started to play cello in the Official Conservatory of that city where she got an Honorary award in Chamber Music. Afterwards, Virginia moved to Salamanca to pursue her musical studies with Marius Díaz Lleal. There, she got an honorary award in Cello performance.
In 2012 was accepted in Banff Centre, Canada, an artistic residence, where she could take lessons with teachers as Collin Carr, Raphael Wallfisch or Andrés Díaz. She also took lessons with teachers as Asier Polo, Gavriel Lipkind, Herre Jan Stegenga or Pieter Mainzt, among others.
Virginia won the 2nd award of Chamber music competition with a String Quartet in 2009. There, she started a serious chamber music career. She played with her ensemble in the National Classic Radio of Spain (RTVE). Trio de Lis went to the Mendelssohn´s Festival during the summer of 2016 where it took lessons with professors as Michel Lethiec, Ralf Cothóni, Niklas Schmidt, Bart van der Roer... Furthermore, she also feed her own cello develop performing around Netherlands and Spain.
On the other hand, Virginia also has a long experience in Orchestra. She played with professional orchestras as Galicia Symphony Orchestra or Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra. She takes part of Mahler Jugendorchester, and she was member of the Youth Spanish Symphony Orchestra, Netherlands Youth Orchestra (NJO) and Youth Galicia Symphony Orchestra. She worked with conductors as Lorin Maazel, Dima Slobodeniouk, Rubén Gimeno, Lior Shambadal or James Ross.

In 2016, she made an Arpeggione, a Viennese 19th century instrument. She performs an historical version of Arpeggione Sonata by Schubert, which is what she is currently writing her master thesis on.
She is currently completing her Master’s degree at Codarts University, Rotterdam, under the tutelage of Jeroen den Herder.
Ella van der Maspel – violin
Ella was born and raised in New Zeland. She began her musical studies from a Young age. While in New Zealand, Ella played in several orchestras and has many experiences playing chamber music. In 2011 Ella moved to the Netherlands to pursue her musical studies. She has been a member of the NJO, has performed in a string quartet alongside jazz pianist Bert van den Brink and in 2014 performed with her piano trio in a sold out Kleine Zaal of Het Concertgebow. In June of 2014 she performed Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto with the Utrecht Muse Art Studenten Orkest. In 2015 she was nominated for the EMIR Steyerbergprijs.
She is currently completing her Master’s degree at Codarts – Conservatorium of Rotterdam, under the tutelage of Gordan Nikolic and Goran Gribajcevic. She has since discovered that she has a passion for jazz, which is what she is currently writing her master’s thesis on.
