Alejandro Ares

Trained at the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Principality of Asturias (Professor Diego González) with the highest grades and Bachelor of History and Music Sciences from the University of Oviedo. He begins his training at an early age looking for his continuous evolution in the advice of some of the most outstanding international concert artists of his instrument such as Ángel Luis Castaño, Mika Väyrynen, Claudio Jacomuci, etc.
He performs in different countries of the European geography with the orchestra of accordions Amanecer (El Franco, Asturias) and as a soloist in the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium (Oviedo), Cajastur Cultural Center, Auditorium of the Municipal School of Music, Theater, and Dance of León , Jovellanos Theater (Gijón), likewise he has collaborated with the Gijón Symphony Orchestra (OSIGI) sharing stage with artists such as Yuri Zhislin or Óliver Díaz or the CONSMUPA Symphonic Band directed by Johan de Meij.
He has been awarded the 1st Prize in the 53rd National Accordion Competition, in the Classical Senior category held in Ourense in July 2010, and has been a finalist in the 9th Intercentros-Melómano National Interpretation Competition held in Madrid in December 2010.
His recording experience is reflected in works for the Union of Accordionists (UNAC), The
Recording Consort-Galaica Music, Amstel Classics, etc.
He is invited to different music festivals such as Primaveras Musicales Pejinas 2012, where he premieres the Cantata for choir, percussion and accordion set Genesis by Israel López Estelche (Young Composers Award Fundación SGAE-CNDM), I Contemporary Music Festival of Ponferrada Plectrum, Cultural Week of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Oviedo, etc
His programs include transcriptions and adaptations of different musical styles, original contemporary music for accordion or world music, thus offering a broad vision for varied audiences and placing value on the development of the accordion as an educated
instrument.
He currently combines his activity as a concert artist with teaching at the Professional
Conservatory of Xinzo de Limia (Ourense).
