Cellist born and raised in A Coruña. She started to play cello in the Official Conservatory of that city where she got an Honorary award in Chamber Music. Afterwards, Virginia moved to Salamanca to pursue her musical studies with Marius Díaz Lleal. There, she got an honorary award in Cello performance. In 2017, Virginia finished the Master of cello performance with Jeroen den Herder at Codarts, Rotterdam University of Arts.
Meanwhile, in 2012, Virginia was accepted in Banff Centre, Canada, an artistic residence, where she could have lessons with teachers as Collin Carr, Raphael Wallfisch or Andrés Díaz. During her studies, she also took lessons with teachers as Asier Polo, Gavriel Lipkind, Herre Jan Stegenga, Alenadro Bustamante, Pieter Mainzt, Bart van de Roer or Godan Nikolic, among others.
Virginia won the 2nd award of Chamber music competition with a String Quartet in 2009. There, she started a serious chamber music career. She played with her ensemble in the National Classic Radio of Spain (RTVE). Trio de Lis went to the Mendelssohn´s Festival during the summer of 2016 where it took lessons with professors as Michel Lethiec, Ralf Cothóni, Niklas Schmidt, Bart van der Roer... Trio de Lis is growing up as a professional group and they are getting concerts around the Nederlans, in de Doelen, Rotterdam, where they shared stage with Nicolas Alstaedt; Leiden, Spijkenise, Zutphen, Den Haag or Delft. In 2017 she collaborated with De Doelen ensemble, a chamber music group which plays contemporary music. They did a tour with David Lang music around the Netherlands, Muziekgebow in Amsterdam, Conzertgebow in Nijmenen, or Eindhoven… She also collaborates in National Festivals, as Pianton Festival (chamber music Festival with Eendracht ensemble) or Groba Festival (Chamber Orchestra Festival).
Besides, Virginia tries to play as much as she can in cello solo recitals, or working with pianists as Roderigo Robles de Medina, Sander Sittig or Sara Gutiérrez, in De Doelen, Rotterdam, Leiden, Zutphen, A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Banff, Salamanca, among others. In 2017, Virginia got the second prize at the International Cello Competition Luthiers Clar, in Valencia, Spain.
She also has a long experience in Orchestra. When she was young, she started to sing with the choir of the Galicia Symphony orchestra, in A Coruña. There, she discovered the symphonic world and from that moment she started to work with many young orchestras: Galicia Youth symphony orchestra, Spanish youth symphony orchestra, Netherlands Youth symphony orchestra, she takes part of Mahler Jugendorchester and Banff Festival Orchestra, in Canada. She played with professional orchestras as Galicia Symphony Orchestra or Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, where worked with conductors as Lorin Maazel, Dima Slobodeniouk, Rubén Gimeno, Lior Shambadal, James Ross, Valery Gergiev, among others.
In 2016, she made an Arpeggione, a Viennese 19th century instrument. She performs an historical version of Arpeggione Sonata by Schubert, which is her Master thesis about.
Virginia started to work this season with Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra (Spain, 2016-2017).
