Julio Vaquero

Julio Vaquero was born in 1992 in Madrid. He started his adventure in music studying with Judith Faller, oboe with Ricardo Gassent and composition with Jesús Torres (Spanish National Music Award 2012) and Mario Carro, and later, Mercedes Zavala in the Teresa Berganza Conservatory, in which he was graduated in oboe. During these years, he was conductor and arranger of several instrumental and choral ensembles.

Currently, he studies the composition degree in Real Conservatorio de Música de Madrid with Alfonso Romero, while he takes private lessons with Jorge Fernandez Guerra (Spanish National Music Award 2007). Moreover, he has participated in courses and composition lessons with Jesús Torres, Jesús Rueda (Spanish National Music Award 2004) and Malcolm Singer in the Sherborne School of Music.

He has composed music for theatre and musical theatre such as Jaque Mate, Cartílagos, Fraude, La Maravillosa Historia de la Bella Durmiente, El Viaje de Pinocho, Los Viajes de Peppa Pig y Ben y Holly or En Busca del Zapato de la Cenicienta, among others. He has also composed concert pieces premiered and played in Spain, Denmark, The United States and Great Britain.
